Garba is a traditional folk-dance form that originated in the state of Gujarat in western India. It is a vibrant dance that is typically performed during the Navratri festival, which is a nine-day-long celebration that honours the Hindu goddess Durga. Durga is symbol of strength , energy, power and symbolises good over evil.  Garba is performed in a circular formation, with dancers moving around the pivot point of Goddess Durga, clapping and singing together. The dance is accompanied by music. Garba is known for its colourful costumes and intricate footwork. The dance is a celebration of life, and it is often performed in large groups to create a festive and joyful atmosphere. Garba has become increasingly popular not only in Gujarat but also in other parts of India and around the world. It is often performed at weddings, cultural events, and other festive occasions, and it has become a symbol of Indian culture and tradition.

Garba is more than just a dance; it is a community program that brings people together and fosters social interactions. Garba serves as a platform for social interactions and allows individuals to engage with their community in a meaningful way. It creates a sense of belonging and promotes a feeling of togetherness among participants. People of all ages, religions, and backgrounds come together to dance, sing, and celebrate, creating a truly inclusive and diverse environment. Through events like Garba, we can celebrate our cultural traditions while also promoting social harmony and inclusivity.

During the Garba festival, the 108 SN team demonstrated their commitment to the practice of yoga and their willingness to challenge themselves physically and mentally. They were joined by 74 participants and some family members who had also performed the Surya Namaskar along with them previously. The 108 SN team's participation in the Garba festival was a successful attempt to blend two ancient traditions and promote healthy living. Their dedication to the practice of yoga and community engagement through such events is commendable and serves as an inspiration to others to adopt healthy lifestyles and participate in community programs.
